All homes will utilise solar power and heating, rain water harvesting for non-potable needs, and be able to efficiently control and monitor power usage through smart meters. A life independent from the national grid will become the norm. See House Rhino for a modern “off the grid” home.
In the future, community gardens as well as the farmland pastures will receive irrigation via the waste water recycling plant. The plant will connect to the wetland and bird park system, while the on-site refuse recycling plant handles all recyclable waste collected from the community. And an independent contractor appointed by the Home Owners’ Association will manage the non-recyclable refuse.
